Run of Show's planning view for a one-day embedded systems workshop, with nested sessions, a pinned lunch, and a timeline alongside.

Run of Show is a tool for designing and running event agendas. In a spreadsheet, every start time is a formula waiting to break. Here, durations come first: start and end times are derived from the event’s start plus the chain of everything before them, so inserting, deleting, reordering, or resizing an item reflows the whole schedule.

What it does

  • Plan in a spreadsheet-style view with drag-to-reorder, nested sections, and inline editing.
  • Pin an item to a clock time, like a keynote that has to start at 1:00, and mark other items as flexible so they stretch or shrink to fit between the pins.
  • Run the show with a live countdown, a drift indicator, and one-minute bumps, and sync that timer to other devices in the room.
  • Share a password-protected link that always shows the latest version, or an encrypted link where the whole agenda lives in the URL and nothing is stored on a server.
  • Hand it to an agent. An MCP server and REST API let Claude read, create, and edit agendas on your behalf.

Updates

Run of Show learns to take direction

Run of Show now has a REST API and an MCP server, so Claude can read, create, and edit agendas on my behalf, with access granted per user through OAuth. The same day, it gained pinned times: lock an item to a clock time and mark others as flexible, and they stretch or shrink to fit around it.
